The Chicago Food Scene

We were recently in Chicago & wanted to share some of the delicious food & wine experiences we had!

First on the list is Sunda, located in the River North area of Chicago.  Sunda had amazing Asian inspired selections & delicious innovative cocktails, with an upscale vibe. A couple favorites were the Hamachi Tataki and Chili Albacore Sashimi, along with the Peared Sake cocktail. The Hamachi Tataki was prepared with Yellowtail, cherry tomatoes, serrano chili, shiso, citrus soy, garlic & scallion oil. So light, but with a kick of heat from the chili!  The Chili Albacore Sashimi was equally as delicious and had a nice textural element with the crispy onions.  I paired both of these delightful dishes with the Peared Sake cocktail. This refreshing cocktail was made with Grey Goose La Poire, sparkling sake, pineapple, ginger & a cinnamon rim! It was so tasty without being too sweet, & was so smooth!

The second restaurant I wanted to highlight was Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba!, near the Lincoln Park area of Chicago.  Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba! offers delicious Spanish style Tapas.  Everything was so good!  Highlights were the Goat Cheese Baked in Tomato Sauce, Shrimp with Garlic, Olive Oil, Red Pepper Flakes and the Paella!  I paired my meal with a Spanish Tempranillo, which was the perfect complement!

Chicago is a beautiful city with so many happenings & eats! I highly recommend visiting the Windy City and checking out the incredible restaurant scene while you're at it!
